Have you ever wanted to travel around the world AND learn cool things at the same time?? Well, now you can! Through an organization called Students On Ice, you can literally travel to the two ends of the world, the Arctic and Antarctic, for an amazing educational experience designed especially for youth.

More Than Just a Textbook

Students On Ice holds yearly expeditions for youth that offer much more than reading out of a textbook or looking out of the window of a tour bus! These expeditions give youth the chance to be fully immersed in the environment and work hands-on with different activities. Students On Ice’s main philosophy is to give youth the opportunity to experience the culture and nature of the Arctic or Antarctic and appreciate some of the most beautiful and unique places of the world, all the while learning about everything it has to offer. It also gives youth a glimpse of what life is like in remote areas, where some of our fellow Canadians live every day. What an awesome experience to be able to come home and tell your family and friends about!

If you want to see more, go check out some pictures and videos of the past expeditions, or take a look at the upcoming Arctic and Antarctic adventures on this webpage. Here, you can also see Twitter feeds from some of the expeditions, along with a video from CBC and the Discovery Channel.
