When Pranks Turn Ugly!

Everyone LOVES April Fools Day…it’s the only time of year that you have a free pass to prank your friends and family! And every year, people come up with more imaginative and sometimes frightening pranks. But when does it go too far? How much is too much? At what point does a prank turn into something more dangerous and mean?
Eenie, Meany, Mynie, Mo…
It’s always fun to brainstorm some practical joke ideas for April Fools Day, however even if we think they are funny, there is something else we should consider before we act! Sometimes carrying out pranks at the expense of someone else can be hurtful and unfair. Often we get carried away on April Fools Day with the excitement of playing pranks on one another, but sometimes our jokes can turn into bullying or harassment. Even if your intentions aren’t bad, or you don’t engage in these pranks out of malice, it may still humiliate or hurt the other person. Will the prank hurt them, either physically or emotionally? Will it embarrass them? Your best judge to consider how it will affect the other person, is to determine how you would feel if the prank was done to you.
We should all think critically when April Fool’s Day rolls around to ensure that it’s a day full of laughs had by all!
