Police Officers in a Line

Since 1998, in Canada, the last Sunday of every September is Police and Peace Officer’s National Memorial Day. The event gives the public a formal day when they can pay their respects to police and peace officers who have been killed in the line of duty.

Every year, between 6 and 8 Canadian Peace and Police officers lose their lives on the frontline; protecting our communities and our country. These officers are given the special recognition they surely deserve on Police and Peace Officer’s National Memorial Day.

This year, the event takes place on September 25th. Take a few minutes to pay your respects to officers who have fallen in the line of duty. It’s the least we can do for the people who have lost their lives, keeping us out of harm’s way.
