Issue: Youth boredom
Why? When youth are bored, they to find activities that are not necessarily safe or legal to occupy their time.

Updated: 2011-10-15

During the summer months I found an individual who was interested taking up from where I left off, his name is Quinn, prior to my leaving we made a template of the activities we wanted to run, where we would hold them, how often they would occur, how much the activities would cost (approximately), where we would go for money, how to find volunteers, as well, how to keep track of individuals who were coming.

What issue did you choose to address in your Action Plan? I chose to deal with youth boredom.

Why did you choose that issue? I chose to deal with this issue because when youth are bored we tend to find activities to do that are not necessarily safe or legal, so by providing activities and developing these ideals hopefully youth as they get to their high teens are making smarter choices.

How are you going to address the selected issue? To address this issue I plan on providing a monthly activity night for youth (11-13) that will provide not only activities for the youth to do on that night but that they can take and do at home with their family and with their friends.

What do you hope to achieve in the next year? Over the next year I hope that this program will be used by all youth in the community.  With that popularity hopefully they will take what they will learn to their friends and they will continue practicing what they learned over the summers and in the future when they outgrow the program.

What progress have you made so far? So far I have met with media outlets, local school administrators, the school board, and city council with all persons looking at ways in which they will be able to help provide money, and facilities with the plan for this program commencing in the fall.
