Issue: Boredom
Why? There are not a lot of activities for youth in our community.

What issue did you choose to address in your Action Plan? I chose to address the issue of boredom.

Why did you choose that issue? The youth actually choose this issue because there is not a lot of activities for youth in our community.

How are you going to address the selected issue? I hope to get a youth summer camp going. That seems to be what they (the youth) want the most and next week we are putting our proposal in to get funding for it. Then I was also thinking about going to a youth conference in Edmonton in October. We will have to do a lot of fund-raising for that too. There will be a lot of other little things in between but those are my two big goals this year.

What do you hope to achieve in the next year? Well, the main thing I hope to do is to get youth to participate and volunteer – this will let us know we achieved our goal.

What progress have you made so far? I still have to meet up with chief and council to get the go ahead to do something. But I already did my first meeting with youth in my community and got a lot of great ideas from them.
